well, it's all fun and games until, of course, it isn't... and that goes for my experience watching this movie too!
i enjoyed the whole spanish sequence. the bickering was very screwball and very old hollywood. then it got serious. maybe a little too serious. a little too real. it's all up in your face; the sneaking around, the shared flat — not a house, a flat, not a home, though it tries to be — every few fleeting hours, every now and then, each week. suddenly it's no longer fun and romantic. it is what it is: an affair. now i feel bad for having fun during the first hour of the movie, but then i remembered that i shouldn't because it's just a movie. a very effective movie that left quite an impression on me due to reasons that totally has nothing to do with my parents being separated. i hope when i wake up tomorrow, i can still find it in my heart to believe in the existence of a true and honest love. a loving love. look at what you did, a touch of class (1973) !!
