I was shocked at how violent this one was. The gore and special effects are gruesome even by today’s standards and I have seen westerns from this time so I thought I knew what I was getting myself into. The themes that the story deals with are very ambitious but I don’t feel as though they were able to explore them in a deep enough way for me to adore the film as a whole. It’s definitely a worthwhile watch though.
