A Mexican noir focused on class conflict and divide. One of Buñuel's earlier ish films in Mexico. It's not the most entertaining film I've watched but it's still decent and has merit.
Like Los Olvidados I struggle to resonate and connect with the characters here so it makes it harder to truly enjoy. It's hard to get involved with the stakes and emotion when I'm not sure how much I care about these people. I do think it could of benefited with more Meche, and maybe having Pedro fall in love less quickly or something.
