Scary movie 3 loses the Wayne's but still keeps the fun and charm of the first 2 movies. This time putting more of a focus on parodying half horror half Sci fi movies of the 2000s. It still has all the laughs just not as much as before.
Scary movie 3 primarily parodies signs (which I've never seen) and the ring. Odd choice to put together but in the end it is brought together by a funny moment. Cindy who is now a reporter investigates crop circles while a evil tape goes after everyone who has watched it. The story is fun and enjoyable. It's still has a story focus while smartishly parodying other movies like 8 mile. So yeah it's still a fun story.
The characters are still as entertaining as ever. Sadly no shorty and Ray but Cindy brings it. Anna Faris really makes these movies have much more charm than one would think. Of course Brenda is back and I love her. Her fight with samara was just entertaining and fun. Simon rex and Charlie sheen join the cast too. I think they could have used Charlie more but he has a pretty funny moment with the dying wife. Simon rex is the love intrest and he is cool. Not my favorite love intrest but his story has hilarious moments especially the 8 Mile scene. The biggest addition is Leslie Nielsen as the president and his the best part. Every scene his in had me on the floor.
The gags are still as funny as ever. I love that this movie shows how Cindy is a terrible mom from the start. Her accidental neglect of her son is darkly funny. Brenda was awesome too especially her reaction when her carpet got wet thanks to Samara. The president had the funniest moments though. From the pres conference to accidentally saving the world it was all great. Queen Latifah had a laugh out loud moment too when she watched the ring tape. This and many more make them as hilarious as the first two.
