I unfortunately ate this up, however every time there was a lyric drop, a year was removed from my lifespan.

i find it very hard to believe that anyone in this cast has ever heard of the smiths let alone actually listen to them

After this and Blinded by the Light a couple years ago, I'm worried that we're only a few short decades away from movies about crazed One Direction fans crying when Zayn left

This is the worst movie I've ever seen. Not because it's offensive, not because it has bad politics or a dangerous motive. This is the worst movie I've ever seen because it is the most milquetoast, bland, unseasoned form of pretention layered over an uninspired, self-important story with no consequences. Sure "events" happen but there are no repercussions whatsoever. Absolutely nothing that happens in this movie matters in the slightest by time the credits roll.

I'm not even sure if the Smiths stayed broken up or even broke up at all because it would perfectly fit this movie to create a faux-catastrophic musical history moment just to pull back on it for fear of saying literally even one single meaningful thing.
