Oh wow, it's been a while since I've watched a dumb 80's slasher. Missed this feeling quite a bit.
Silent Madness is not that great of a slasher. It looks good I'll admit and I did enjoy the main character, as well as her male companion. The story was also interesting enough to keep me watching even though I thought the plot twist was extremely lame. The funky 3D shots also give the movie a lot of charm and I love that. That's where the positives end though. The kills are extremely tame, unimaginative and totally forgetable. It lacks the necessary gore and filthiness that keep me coming back to 80's slashers. The 2 guys from hospital are very annoying and turned me off continuously throughout the movie. The sheriff was also extremely annoying. All the other characters felt way too bland, even for the standarts of an 80's slasher. The killer is completely uninteresting and not intimidating at all. Every time he was on screen the movie felt silly and even a bit goofy.
Silent Madness is only worth watching if you're an hardcore 80's slasher fan. If you're not, maybe you should spend your time watching something else, as there are many other more entertaining slashers from this time period out there.

well i was on my usual hunt to find any new underrated slashers from the 1980s and stumbled across this one titled silent madness from 1984 which i had in my watchlist sitting there for quite some time but i just could never find anywhere to watch it online until that is today and i went into this one thinking i wasn’t probably gonna enjoy it a whole lot but i was completely wrong because i actually was intrigued by it from start to the very finish like sure it had your standard plot that so many of these slashers from back then had with some crazed lunatic being let out of the hospital and is now freely roaming the streets claiming victims but i wasn’t even phased by it because even though they did this story so much in the 80s i still ate it up every single time because they were always such interesting ones for me and then learning behind the reasoning for them going on their little killing spree was just the cherry on top for me and in this one the killer goes back to the very sorority house where murders took place back then that he had been put away for and so then goes onto start killing the new sorority sisters that in habit that house now with our final girl of the film who is a psychiatrist that works at the same hospital that the lunatic was let out from because of poor staff and them not doing their fucking jobs of keeping the mentally insane in check and away from other civilians but as we get to the very end it’s then revealed that the lunatic who was let out of hospital wasn’t the one that was in charge of murdering those sorority girls all those years ago but it was infact his mother who was the house mother of the same sorority who didn’t like them belittling her son and instead wanted them to pay so she took it into her own hands and killed each of them which i will say that i did love this little plot twist at the end because i didn’t see it coming at all and then lastly we talk about the kills in this film with them not being anything to special and they were your typical one and done type of kills and then the camera just tends to pan away also there was a lack of blood in this one but i didn’t mind it at all but there was one thing i hugely disliked in this film which was the 3D aspect of it is felt that it made it look so ridiculous and it’s just also because i’m not a huge fan of any film that has to do with 3D but this was still a 5 stars for me.

Almost feels like a prank to have a movie that is mostly talking as 3D, let alone called “Silent” Madness. These characters can’t stop yapping
