the first 30 minutes are a pretty slow look at a debt collector, who is pretty depressed going about his day as his life slowly falls more apart. after this, the rest of the runtime is some of the most insane over the top gore, even by Nishimura standards! it’s a pretty funny transition in storytelling - going from quite mundane to insanely gory in a few seconds.
wild costume designs, big fight scenes and of course Nishimura’s signature gore effects everywhere! recommended for fans of Nishimura, i actually enjoyed the first 30 mins honestly as i love Nishimura’s cinematic style. some of the fight scenes drag a little too much which holds this back from being as great as other Nishimura films, but this is a load of fun! also, Eihi Shiina has a small but awesome roll here!
