Could've been a great movie. Unfortunately had too many clunky unnecessary scenes and went the wrong way. The random post war Britain trauma dump in the cave was- You'll probably think I'm delusional and I'm reaching very far with this but what if the film takes a formalist approach? (Why do mainstream audiences hate formalism and deny it reject it every time,,, a film tries to do something interesting with form and it's branded as weird and experimental...) Maybe the form takes on Jennifer as a whole character shaped by the film and has her stereotype on display via that. Don't know about you but Ive met too many people that fit her archetype (AND JENNIFER GOES TO CENTRAL ST MARTINS TOO THE JOKES WRITE THEMSELVES !!!!) Very much that prissy rich nepobaby who trys sooooo hard to act underprivileged and that trauma dump scene is a very common trope of that stereotype.
Not a great film but the substance is there, it just wasn't able to come to life (in some scenes it does, mainly the youthful musical scenes). Score is insane.
The real question here is What do we have to do to stop UAL name drops in British films set in London.
