The H-Man

in a strange twist of sub-plots, the mafia/crime aspect of the film is more entertaining and enjoyable than the ‘blob’ thing. 

I was not expecting the various sub-plots within the film. I’d like to say I didn’t mind it but I wasn’t really expecting it - and found it quite irritating. I did enjoy the more realistic and entertaining version of the mafias crime and stalking of Arai. 

The special effects aren’t great but I guess they hold up for their time. But man is it unpleasant to watch. 

All in all, wish I enjoyed the film more. I liked the premise and the idea of the film, just thought the actual blob or killer slime was underscored immensely.

This was a really fun Japanese take on the blob that actually predates the blob by a little! Solid, fun effects and some fun, campy performances adds up to a fun 90 minutes of Honda doing something other than Godzilla and it kinda rocks!!
