It's Charles Laughton as Henry VIII, this movie is inherently absolutely bonkers. Largely vignette driven through most of the his wives in a fashion that's somewhere between legitimate black comedy and just the absurdity of history. Wild stuff.

 The musical Six totally should’ve had Henry as a character and they could have sold mutton chops at concessions and we could have thrown the bones on stage when Henry came on for his song about still being virile at 50 or whatever. Anyway silly, if sluggish, movie with expert mise en scene and performances

such a surprisingly funny movie wrapped in like a historical dark comedy/love story? (albeit fucked up) i am pleasantly surprised i liked this as much as i did tbh. that poor barber can not catch a break man always says the wrong thing 😭

i would love if they remade this and casted tom hardy as henry-the henry in this one literally looks like a fat tom hardy it’s uncanny
