Absolutely fantastic acting from Arturo de Córdova. His performance really drives this film as he starts to become more unhinged. The cinematography was also great as well, the scene in the belltower is an obvious standout. The church scene and the ending really tied the whole thing together in a great way. I was reminded of George Cukor's Gaslight during the film, though Él is quite different due to the main character's motives.

Not once does it occur to this guy he may be wrong. Super restrained, super nasty, zero bullshit. Wish I got more from it, just felt so emotionally distant
