Frank's directorial debut! tbh I'm getting tired of the war movies, but it is directed pretty well and it's an interesting conflict. The amputation scene alone is solid. Unfortunately, that's not really what I'll remember from this film. What I will remember is how much I wanted to kill Tommy Sands' character the whole time because he is truly giving one of the worst acting performances of all time, but since he was Frank's son-in-law, he got the nepo baby treatment in the form of a leading role. blehhhhhhhhhhhh
also, none of the copies I could find online had subtitles, which means like half of the movie was in Japanese with zero translation...but I followed along okay...i think
