“PRONTO”I admire how bold and daring Anna Magnani is with her performances. She’s puts her all into her work and there’s never a dull moment. The contrasting characters do a good job and showcasing her range

Kinda like an acting reel for Magnani, one she does very good in!! the first story is very french and though she’s acting her ass off it’s not very interesting to me. the second story, written by fellini, is the opposite. a woman w clear mental issues is raped by some hiker and thinks it’s the second coming of Christ. it’s very bleak and morbid and the poor girl can’t catch a break. a scene that’s particularly cruel is when a town full of people dress her up like the virgin mary and make fun of her. she falls to her knees and tells God to forgive them for they know not what they do. This goat leads her to an abandoned(?) church to give birth. If Christ is the immaculate conception ig the clear foil to that would be for the anti-christ to be born of something evil and disgusting like a rape. very small film but an interesting story nonetheless
