When his first stage show fails, songwriter Cole Porter goes off to fight in WWI until, injured, he lands in a hospital. He impresses nurse Linda Lee with his creativity, but their budding romance must wait as Cole heads home. Back in New York, he mounts a series of popular shows, and when his work brings him back to Europe, he eventually marries Linda. But success doesn't spare him from marital complications or bad news about a beloved relative.

A very inaccurate and very straight washed biopic about Cole Porter. It’s also Cary Grant’s first movie in technicolor. It’s a bit boring but it’s serviceable, I’m not really a fan of musicals anyways so it was just fine. Pretty bad for Michael Curtiz.

One star because I love Cary Grant, one star because I love Cole Porter. Negative one million stars for feeling like it was 20 years long and nothing happened

Some parts are good and enjoyable but for the most part I was bored and not entertained. I can’t fully describe it but it just didn’t feel my speed. Possibly because of all the musical elements and stuff going on. Nothing super special about it I feel.
