in case anybody was wondering, yes it was the perfect choice to cast ethan hawke as the bank robber so charismatic his hostages liked him and refused to cooperate with police, resulting in the phrase “stockholm syndrome” being created.

If we look at it in only the film universe, what the hell was Bianca supposed to do, not fall in love with Lars (it's Ethan Hawk, like be reasonable. I know that IRL he wasn't hot, but come on). Second off, it wasn't that bad, they played cards, small chatted, it seemed fine, they even got tampons and cigarettes. No one died, it's not that deep.
