The blue crystal that the Doctor took from Metebelis III in a previous adventure is desperately sought by the Eight Legs, a race of mutated spiders, as the final element in their plan for universal domination. With help from an old mentor, the Doctor realises the only way to foil the plot is to make the ultimate sacrifice. The Doctor must risk death to return to the cave of the Great One and save the universe.

Doctor Who: Planet of the Spiders
When you say you love trinkets and you actually mean that you have a shelf full of labubus and other pop mart crap and not that you gathered all the spiders around the house, put them in a blue box and gave them a crystal.

SO LAME 🙄🙄🙄

Doctor Who: Planet of the Spiders
“You know this is barney. Here am I calmly discussing fabulous planets with blue moons, giant spiders, magic crystals, as if I was talking about, um, pussycats, fish and chips and the Liverpool docks.” It’s just the way she says it. It made me laugh. 🩵

“Wakes wakey, rise and shine! Show a leg, the weathers fine.” Thank you Doctor I’ll have to steal that line. 💙

“Well, now I know what a fly feels like. What a fascinating experience.”

Jon Pertwee was such an incredible Doctor Who for what he was given (exiled on earth because of budget) I have named my car Bessie like the Doctor named his. 💛
Rest in peace Jon Pertwee, rest in peace Elisabeth Sladen and rest in peace Roger Delgado. ❤️

Doctor Who: Planet of the Spiders
i absolutely can not believe that i’m finished the jon pertwee era of doctor who. what a wonderfully fun and magical experience. i did like this story but it definitely isn’t one of my favorites, and a pretty underwhelming finale except for the bad ass 10 minute long chase sequence. + i’m devastated that this is the last we see of my beloved mike yates. </3

Doctor Who: Planet of the Spiders
“A tear, Sarah Jane?”

An excellent send off for one of my favourite doctors.
Packed with chase scenes, hand to hand combat and a batshit insane plot.
A group of monks in a Tibetan monastery summon psychic spiders that can shoot lightning so they can steal a blue crystal from the doctor in order to gain power and take over the world.

Speaking of the crystal, I was surprised to see such an important plot element tie in to a relatively small detail from a full season before, but any reference to The Green Death is a welcome one.

I love Jon Pertwee’s era, I’m very much looking forward to watching the rest of the stories from his tenure
