Tom Destry, son of a legendary frontier peacekeeper, doesn’t believe in gunplay. Thus he becomes the object of widespread ridicule when he rides into the wide-open town of Bottleneck, the personal fiefdom of the crooked Kent.

Finding out that two of my favourite actors of all time starring together in a film of one of my favourite genres got me ecstatic. Destry Rides Again seems to be that kind of bog-standard western where a misjudged guy proves his power as the law in a town, but [](http://letterboxd.com/director/george-marshall/)[](http://letterboxd.com/director/george-marshall-1/)Marshall twists it with the phenomenal aesthetic and remarkable cast to make a thoroughly entertaining experience. It doesn't take itself too seriously and the characters are often goofy at times to the perfect amount so it doesn't appear obnoxious. I'm delirious right now and I did finish the film about 2 hours before writing this, so I'm going to have to stop, but this is really really good. Tremendous.> "Get out before I kill you!"
