This was recommended with a star next to it declaring it a better version of Promising Young Woman and, well yes. With the exception of the commentary on nice guys, this manages to tackle everything better.
As someone with a pretty high tolerance for this genre, the assault scenes were rough but there’s a line about how art is meant to disturb and “expose the truth” so it, at least feels like there’s a point to its explicit nature, especially considering this is from a female filmmaker. Main takeaway: Emerald Fennell really ripped this off, down to the colorful wig.
