I watched this movie as a double feature with Strikes Back to that's why they are back to back.
I'm a simple man. When I see Jay and Silent Bob. I'm happy. After over 20 years the weed smoking boys are back in the sattle. With one of my personal favorites reboots ever. Also one of the better reboots in my opinion. It's surprisingly sad like the scene with Stan Lee made me cry man. I legit started crying for the first time I watched it. Stan Lee was my childhood hero since I turned 17. And I love him so much and his work even more. Just knowing he past always breaks me. Rest in Peace Legend!
This is a much more emotional Installment in the View Askewniverse. With the newer Smith reboots. Clerks and Jay. They have a much more maturity to them. With clerks 3 it was age, friendship and heart attacks. While With Reboot it's fatherhood, regret and Chinese Russian spys.
I mean come on! Kevin Smith's real daughter plays the daughter of Jay. And Jay is in a way how Kevin saw himself back in the day. Same with how clerks 3 was with how he saw his heart attack and his fathers heart attack. But it could also be on Jason Mewes reflection on how he sees his daughter in real life. And maybe even how he's been sober from herion, weed or any drugs for around 16 years. God for you dude. I'm like a very proud dad. And I don't know the man.
But of course you still got that classic Jay and Silent Bob humor or more specifically Kevin Smith humor. You've got dick jokes, sex jokes, snoogans and also a KKK joke for some reason. I don't know why it came out of nowhere.
This is also probably the most meta movie he's made. The big climax plays in his very own convention. He plays Silent Bob and himself who is the director to the reboot of Bluntman and Chronic. And they constantly hate on his movies. Think of Jersey Girl how it ruined Jason Biggs and Yoga Hosers, but I don't think I have to talk about that one. While I like for how stupid it is and it's one of those films its so bad it's actually pretty amazing. Probably different poeple don't think that, but hey! SNOOCHIE BOOCHIE NOOCHIES!!!
While it's in my opinion the perfect reboot/sequel with all the things I love for the OG. That comes back stronger then ever. I wish Susanne was in this god forsaken movie. Where the hell is Susanne when you need her. Bob needs his second buddy. I need my second Buddy. WHERE IS SUSANNE!!!
Maybe I'll ask Weezer. Maybe they'll know.
