I am a fan of the idol group this film follows (ノーメイクス) so that definitely played into why I enjoyed it so much, but they are all really great! had no idea what to expect with this, but i loved the plotline around just trying to make a film and going with the flow as that’s what i do most times when i film anything lmao.
definitely contains some signature Iguchi style that becomes very uncomfortable at points, but outside of that the main storyline and characters are great! this would be a fun double bill with Ghost Squad the other Iguchi film that follows the same group!
overall, a lot of fun and surprisingly moving at times. the ending is just crazy, I love movies about filmmaking and this one was great! Minori Mikado & Sumire Ueno were especially great & i loved the weird ghost storyline with them! the opening scene & credit sequences are really fun too!
