the parallels of the four women’s stories and their struggle to have autonomy with the context of british imperialism in Iran was a beautiful touch. i enjoyed the poetry, music, and the conversations had about justice and freedom in between a lot and there were some incredible quotes. the scenes of the three women in the orchard were done so well i could cry.
i do think it falls short on the worldbuilding, i wish i could have seen more of the women without men being women without men, especially more on zarin’s story.
