Demon city is a vibe

Ich mag das Apokalyptische feeling der Stadt Shinjuku, die Farbpalette und vor allem das dieser Teil verglichen mit Wicked City viel weniger sexualisiert daherkommt.

Jedoch fand ich ,,Demon City Shinjuku“ gleichzeitig auch vergleichen damit leider etwas schwächer. Das Ende ist nämlich antiklimaktischer, der Gore etwas zurückgeschraubt und ich mochte die Dämonen-Designs beim Vorgänger ebenfalls mehr.

A Hidden Gem frIdk how i found out about this but thank god i didTokyo been taken by the Demons after an earthquake with The aid of Rebi Ra (Darth Vader in star wars terms)whos plan is to open the gate to the demon realm ( sorta like pandora’s box) and send all demons roaming earth and here come Kyoya IzayoiSon of Genichirou Izayoi who died trying to stop Rebi ra at the earthquake. We see kyoya roaming a possessed Shinjuku with a wooden sword And a pretty princess like girl  killing demons and having a solid change in character thanks to the girl Sayaka 

Overall a really great watch it had some Wtf moments tho Animation was really good for that time honestly

It the can be a bit repetitive, writing reviews for Kawajiri movies. For example you always are forced to complement the great creativity of the characters abilities. You’ll also have to mention some kind of sexual assault most of the time.

Now with the two Kawajiri must haves out of the way, the next thing to mention here are the great visuals. The animation is phenomenal, especially in that last confrontation, the coloring looks beautiful as well and both artstyle and character design impressed me.
All that combined with the music, that amplifies every scene makes for a great atmospheric experience.

The characters were also pretty cool, especially Sayaka, who was a real sweetheart and I was constantly anxious she’d get the Kawajiri female character treatment I know from Ninja Scroll and Wicked city but in the end they went easy on her in comparison.

Overall a great movie, with an intriguing world and many entertaining moments, accompanied by a unique atmosphere that comes together from the clean visuals and good score.
