It the can be a bit repetitive, writing reviews for
Kawajiri movies. For example you always are forced to complement the great creativity of the characters abilities. You’ll also have to mention some kind of sexual assault most of the time.
Now with the two
Kawajiri must haves out of the way, the next thing to mention here are the great visuals. The animation is phenomenal, especially in that last confrontation, the coloring looks beautiful as well and both artstyle and character design impressed me.
All that combined with the music, that amplifies every scene makes for a great atmospheric experience.
The characters were also pretty cool, especially
Sayaka, who was a real sweetheart and I was constantly anxious she’d get the
Kawajiri female character treatment I know from
Ninja Scroll and
Wicked city but in the end they went easy on her in comparison.
Overall a great movie, with an intriguing world and many entertaining moments, accompanied by a unique atmosphere that comes together from the clean visuals and good score.
