The Wizard of Speed and Time
The Wizard of Speed and Time is not a good movie but it’s also not terrible. I actually enjoyed this from more of a technical perspective. It’s like a special effects reel for its time. But this movie is campy as it gets. The acting is pretty rough and the story is cheesy - but worse it leaves nothing to interpretation, telling the audience exactly what to think and feel, often through voiceover narration. A few of the silly antics have me a chuckle or two but after while they were just annoying. And boy could this movie have used a flashing lights and strobing effect may cause seizures warning! Ultimately I’m glad I watched it and am curious about the making of, but it’s definitely more Flash Gordon than Star Wars.
Also, how the hell did they get Tubbs from Miami Vice to star in this movie?! And was that Bob from The Church of the Subgenius on the side of his van?!
