Max and Annie's weekly game night gets kicked up a notch when Max's brother Brooks arranges a murder mystery party -- complete with fake thugs and federal agents. So when Brooks gets kidnapped, it's all supposed to be part of the game. As the competitors set out to solve the case, they start to learn that neither the game nor Brooks are what they seem to be. The friends soon find themselves in over their heads as each twist leads to another unexpected turn over the course of one chaotic night.

HOLY SHIT!!
This movie has no reason to be as good as it is. I don’t remember enjoying a studio comedy this much in a long time. I would compare this more closely to Knives Out than a traditional studio comedy.
Part of the reason it is so fun is because it plays with your expectations the whole way through. Whether it’s who’s game it really is, or glass tables never breaking, and a number of other visual gags, when you think you’ve figured it out, it flips the script on you.
Every actor is great in this but Jesse Plemons is really flexing. He’s so deadpan and seems like he’s having fun in this. I hope he continues to get some awesome roles.
