i’m someone who will always be so intrigued and fascinated by these sources of old queer media from back then because it really gives you a insight on what so many queer individuals who have came before me and so many others did back then in these queer spaces that they had because being gay back then wasn’t something that was seen as “natural” or a “good thing” but as something so disgusting and vile by so many bigots which i will truly never understand why so many people constantly have to speak on the queer community and worry about what we’re doing with our lives or the very things in our bedrooms with the same sex because that shouldn’t really matter to you since it has no effect on you in any way or causing harm towards others just by us existing and being ourselves so i loved seeing that many queer folks had these bars that they could frequent with eachother and be their true authentic selves with no worries and also these small queer parties where many would gather around to talk and dance with one another that still doesn’t mean that these areas where they could feel safe weren’t always be raided by these police officers who just simply thought just because they had on that uniform and badge that they could go out and just harass so many innocent people just because they weren’t accepting of their lifestyle but i applaud the queer community for never backing down and constantly fighting for that very freedom of being themselves and no having to hide that from the world and they are the sole reason why so many queer people today have that ability to be themselves so freely because they fought so hard for our rights and for that i will always have so much love for all the queer seniors who have came before me and so many others 💗
