As far as post-apocalyptic films go, A Quiet Place is pretty good. The introduction of the aliens is done well, and since the film has little dialogue, it relies heavily on the performances from the cast and the use of tension and suspense. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are great as the adults of the Abbott family, but I'm not entirely sold on the acting from the kids. And while i like the majority of the plot, I hate the 'having a baby while the world is ending' trope; you'd think people in these situations would grab a packet of condoms while they're out scavenging for supplies in stores if they want to fuck that bad. Overall, though I do like Day One a bit better, this is still a solid film, and a nice start to the franchise.
