Watched this w my mom at 2 am. It’s one of her favorite movies. I definitely enjoyed this. The cinematography was probably my favorite thing every shot is so picturesque it’s one of those movies that has a painting like quality to each frame. The narrative is amazing and I’m aware it’s based on a series of books I believe and I’m not sure how accurate it is to the source material as I’m not familiar with it so my review isn’t based on that but from the narrative of the screenplay I did genuinely enjoy it a lot and i loved all the different elements and how they connected it feels like a very classic American story. And I liked this character from Brad Pitt a lot it reminded me a lot of Alain delon in Rocco and his brothers . Also this role really suited Anthony Hopkins acting style well. I will say though my biggest flaw w this was some of the acting from various charactees definitely fell flat for me. And to note. Samuel’s brothers fake asf 🤣🤣 yo deadass why have enemies when u can have brothers like rhat they both plotting on your girl . And Susannah was a bop before bops were a thing is crazy
