Izo Hashimoto, Takashi Miike, Shozin Fukui, you know it’s hard not to wonder what goes on in their heads. 

The final half of this movie makes it worth watching i promise you. The last 20 minutes of the first movie made it worth watching but the last 40 minutes of this mf is INSANE. BATSHIT. Also how big are those fucking neon signs bro jesus christ 😭 

This movie also reminds me of so many other movies (even though most came out after this one). The music reminds me of Ichi the Killer, rooms with this dim yellow lighting remind me of Gozu, the scene with Emi and Aki fighting with white sheets above them reminded me of Marronnier, fucking Shiro Sano getting head again and becoming a doctor again for one scene reminded me of Lucky Sky Diamond. so many things this reminds me of I really really liked it. I am gonna say if it weren’t for the final half being so good I might’ve given it a 3.5/5 but still this movies fucking crazy and really good. 

Time to see if that last evil dead trap movie is shit or not I don’t have my hopes too high cause nobody even talks about it.

Kills were sporadic and I thought the film was a bit slow until it reached the finale, which also felt a little too drawn out 😆 I do like a long fight scene but boy I was just begging for it to end 😅

amazing final act with some really nice cinematography throughout. however, the rest is honestly pretty hard to get through as it is super boring. again though, the final act is awesome it’s just a shame the rest of the film isn’t as insane as it. the first one is for sure a lot better lol. the 88 films blu-ray looks great tho!

Some great visuals and good practice effects that are let down by a confusing and lacklustre storyline. I do understand why this film has a cult following behind it, but personally it just didn’t click for me. Maybe on a rewatch I’d like it more, especially considering I watched it at around 1am so maybe that plays into my enjoyment. It was also drastically different to the first Evil Dead Trap and so was nothing like what I expected. 

Overall, one I would recommend to try yourself as it seems people love or hate this one. I’ll definitely give it a rewatch, though I can say for sure I preferred the first film much more and found the kills & story to be much more interesting.
