Easily the best documentary I’ve ever seen. While some moments can make you chuckle, especially the girl with Taco Bell on her knuckles, this documentary is just overwhelmingly heartbreaking.
These kids are products of abuse, they live on the streets, and spend their days drinking. In the end most of their responses to questions of the future is death, spare those who hope for jobs. I wonder how many of them made it out of the 90s.
Post credits there is a part honoring the memory of one of the interviewees Squid, who was murdered by another interviewee, spoon. For some reason that really got me.
It does seem easy for people to make fun of these colorful characters, but in the end I just respect these punks for their hardened nature.
Gotta watch part 2 sometime too.
