admittedly I selected this movie bc I recently watched zosia mamet on an episode of girls rewatch podcast and then promptly fell down the rabbit hole of watching every project she’s ever done (as one does). and thank god honestly because this movie is literally right up my alley. it’s sad and uncomfortable and funny and about exes who are in forced proximity (they unintentionally become neighbors) and of course the tension is insane. these two are so awkward and earnest that it’s so adorable to watch and makes all the flashbacks sadder and more bittersweet. idk what this specific type of movie is called but whatever it is it’s my specialty. i anticipate adding this movie to the list of ones i rewatch bi-monthly. i needed this

i like mumblecore. i really do. but sometimes i finish watching a movie and realize that i internalized absolutely nothing that happened in it.

“I don’t know what I’m doing.”
“…but what if it doesn’t work out, what if I’m not any good?”

Oof the mid-20s spiral goes hard in this movie
