Legitimately one of the most violent bloody action movies I’ve ever seen, looses a bit of steam in the 2nd half. Could have been like 10-15 mins shorter but still 100% worth watching for anyone into action. Joe Taslim is raw as fuck, wish there was a bit more iko uwais but seeing him and Joe go blow for blow is extremely satisfying

Fun fact : it is an Indonesian tradition to bring a sharp object to an action movie set. Be it a knife, blade, box-cutter, machete. That is why you can see an actor holding atleast one of those in almost every scene. I am also completely making this up.

I love when a martial arts film isn’t afraid to show the physical consequences of the fights. Especially when those consequences are horror movie level practical gore FX!
That coupled with insane fight choreography and muscular camera work, make for a hell of a good time!

Plus, Joe Taslim is such a great lead with the physical and emotional skill to keep you invested!
