It's an alright short film.
This instantly gave me serial experiments lain vibes and I couldn't stop thinking about the two while watching this. With that being said, maybe if it was told differently, I would've liked it? I dunno, the story sounds like other projects that I have previously seen and it came off generic.
The cinematography, not the VFX, is meh to good enough. I think it was shot in 30fps and it kept bugging me in those walking shots. SPEAKING OF THE WALKING SCENES! I didn't like how they were not shot stabled, or at least shot on a gimbal/stabilizer. If the director wanted like that, then I guess it's okay.
Ah yes, the visuals. Very nice and "aesthetically pleasing" for tumblr blogs to repost the screenshots. Don't get me wrong, I liked how they looked but also looked generic.
Maybe this film wasn't meant for me, it's probably for those "i feel like blade runner, ryan gosling" kinds of people.
(i just saw that the people who worked on this project also released a part two/secondary video that might follow up to the main short. maybe if I'm feeling very indie, i'll check it out. but i'd doubt that i'll happen)
