One of the greatest short films I've ever seen, this short film is one of the reasons why cinema is an art completely different from any other, maybe I'll grab something from each of them, but the things that can be done in celluloid don't compare to anything.
This short film is a dreamlike version of everything that was the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. A unique and complex way of seeing this event. If they tell me that Lynch saw this and was inspired, that would explain many things.
"And the Lord, after he spoke to them, was received above in heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they, going out, preached everywhere, the Lord helping them and confirming the word with the signs that followed it. Amen." Mark 16:19-20.
