Out of all of Lars von Trier's works that Iv'e seen so far, this one is the least emotionally damaging for me which says alot for him, which is why this has become one of my favourites. Loved the comedy and drama that happens with the characters. All of them have different and unique "idiocracies" or disabilities that makes each of their dynamics authentic and honest. The ending was truly heartbreaking and goes to show societal expectation of dealing with normality in a certain situation surrounded by closed minded people who don't act or see the world in the way that the "idiots" do. It's such a derogatory word to describe lower classification of society which is also stated in the film. The way that Trier displays the purpose less metaphorically than his other works shows how raw the presentation of the meaning is. I'm happy that he kept his editing style with "chapters" idea. The acting was phenomenal from everyone, it's realistic how they portray mentally disabled people. The Idiots is a funny, tragic, significant film that'll make people start to spasm
