There is a huge part of me that enjoys the strong themes of moral, humanist dillemmas that exist in Iranian cinema. Turmoil and long scenes of quiet, contemplative notions are abundant. The faithful characters presented to us parallel real life. Great visuals are also present; of freshwater farming, the icy northern Iranian landscapes and my favorite — the warm dips our progtaganist enjoys in his secret cave.
Then comes the impressive ending, which swoops down a guillotine — the true manipulative masterminds are revealed and our protaganist is left with the realization that he ended an untrue enemy through corruption, for no real gain.
