❝I can't pray now, or ever again. I think if I got down on my knees God would strike me dead. I hope there is no God. I imagine all murderers hope there isn't, because if there's no Heaven, then there's no Hell.❞

'1922' is one of my favourite Stephen King novellas, and I'm honestly shocked I didn't find out about this adaptation sooner. It's safe to say I had pretty high expectations, but unfortunately it didn't always land. The best part of the film was undoubtedly Thomas Jane; he's an excellent actor and in my opinion he was perfectly cast as Wilfred. The rest of the cast bar Neal McDonough (who played Harlan), though, were comparatively very lacklustre, especially Dylan Schmid (Henry). Aside from this, I think this should've been a series, because an hour and forty minutes was not nearly enough time to properly develop the characters and story in a satisfying way; a series would also have allowed the inclusion of more horror elements executed better than they were in the film. Overall, a kinda average adaptation, but it might be worth a watch if you like psychological horror.
