Even for a kid’s movie, the plot here is a stretch. Filled with illogical, unreal and forced moments - one after the other -.
And we all know that you can very well make an adventure movie for children, filled with the most absurd villains and events, and still feel logical and somewhat grounded (plus, with an engaging and logical narrative) - because we’ve seen The Goonies.
Anyway, the movie is still worth some recognition for being part of Jonathan Taylor Thomas reign over the 90’s and for a villain that terrifies me, even today, at 30. The scenes in which he appears in the dark, with a hidden face and only as a shadow, are probably what inspired the makers of Jeepers Creepers in the making of their creature. Real scary stuff, indeed.
