Three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other -- to become brothers again like they used to be. Their "spiritual quest", however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray).

sweet and engaging and just a good watch overall. It felt a lot more free form than Grand Budapest Hotel but still really clean and beautifully shot. I was laughing my ass off, and Owen Wilson really came out of this earning “great actor” status for me. notable mention for Adrien Brody being hot. Need to watch more early Wes Anderson!
it did feel like a product of its moment in using india/tibet as the cultural backdrop for this dysfunctional American family’s spiritual journeys. Is there really a train in India anything like this? It made me uncomfortable throughout- this white family coming in and lowkey wrecking peoples lives in the name of finding meaning far from home (there is a 0% chance that Jack Schwartzmann pulls Amara Karan IRL like.. are you joking?). don’t want to spoil more but lmk if you wanna discuss 🎢
