I found out about this movie thanks to a frame that caught my eye on pinterest and wasn't expecting much from it, but I loved it! such an underrated movie. in fact, it's entirely based on the director's reflections on her own feelings and past relationships. sylvia chang recreated the events she experienced as a teenager and explores the history of the romance of her younger years in the movie through a parallel storyline where the director tells the same story to the screenwriter at the same time as we see it unfold on screen. sometimes these plot intertwines in the movie seem very confusing and strange, but it made it especially interesting to me and like a fever dream.
the not so rare idea that the characters can't be together due to life circumstances, yet they keep accidentally running into each other and and encounter each other at different periods of their lives, is shown very authentic here, and the constant flashbacks and moments from the characters memories made me very emotional. also, takeshi kaneshiro was at the peak of his beauty in this movie! his character did some weird things, but he was just too handsome, I can't. I love absolutely everything about this movie except the poster and the fact that I had to watch it in a 360 quality. the ending made me want to die… sylvia, I want to hug you
