❝Believe me, Marianne, had I not been bound to silence I could have provided proof enough of a broken heart, even for you.❞

Normally I'm not a big fan of period book adaptations, especially romance ones, but Sense and Sensibility stole my heart. I regret not watching it sooner.
Firstly the plot was great; it was pretty faithful to the book minus some details. It wasn't slow-paced but I felt that it would've been nicer to see more of Marianne and Brandon's relationship develop before the marriage, as well as maybe see Elinor and Edward get married.
The settings were gorgeous, and I'm glad the natural scenery was utilised well in the relevant scenes. The buildings were also beautiful, and I would've liked to see more of Norland and Mrs Jennings' London house.
Emma Thompson did a fantastic job as Elinor; she perfectly portrayed the quiet and sensible nature of her character. Kate Winslet was also great as Marianne, although Marianne was quite annoying at times. Both Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman were perfect as their respective men too.
All in all, this was a lovely film and one I'll rewatch frequently.
