Biutiful has some of the best acting I’ve ever seen and the way it’s shot makes even the slowest scenes feel mesmerizing. It’s an incredibly heavy movie, but at certain points it almost becomes calming.
There are so many beautiful moments mixed in with completely devastating ones, and the way the surreal elements blend into the realism without ever feeling forced or out of place is incredible. The pacing is also perfect, it never rushes anything and just lets you sit with every second while not being boring at all.
