](https://boxd.it/qCHC4)Though I'm far from an expert I've for the past year or teo considered myself a zombie fan. In my search for various zombie flicks I came across this one. A Christmas themed zombie movie. Perfect for someone who might be doing a Christmas movie marathon who also likes zombies... So yeah we're continuing a bit with the less traditional Christmas movie in favour of some alternative ones.

I didn't actually know alot about the movie so when they a couple minutes into the movie break into song, I was quite surprised. I've never been huge in musicals and this isn't any different. Had a hard time really being invested due to this. That said I think it's a fun thing to throw into the mix here, as it's always quite a wacky movie, combining Christmas with a teen zombie comedy movie. However while they do throw alot into the mix it fails to feel really special. Movies like Freaks of Nature, Scouts guide to the zombie apocalypse, cockneys vs zombies and more. So yeah not actually as interesting as I ha thought, as the zombie/apocalypse part of the movie feels very derivative and uninspired. So the only really original thing this movie had going was the musical element. Some might like it.

That said the movies I mentioned this being similar to, are still movies I enjoyed. So while it's nothing new, it's still a decent time. There's some good kills and the songs aren't that bad I guess. The parts where it really falters is when it tries to bring more emotional elements to the movie. As fun as the characters can be they're all quote one dimensional so nothing they do really carries alot of emotion or depth. The movie tries too hard in this regard and doesn't really succeed leading to a rather dull third act, as the movie feels like It's deflating.

Lastly is of course the most important... Is it Christmasy ? Despite the poster featuring a Christmas tree and everything about the movie being Christmas themed it didn't feel very Christmasy to me. The set decoration is there, but it could've taken place at anytime and never really felt Christmasy to me. So that's a but of a shame. Anyway fine movie. One for the zombie or musical lovers

An enjoyable, visually pleasing film. I love horror comedies and musicals so this should've been perfect, but it just had something missing. There was something too cartoonish about, especially in regards to the principle and I found it hard to connect to the characters. Still, it's worth a watch.
