Batman Vs. Two-Face is a direct sequel to
Batman Return of The Caped Crusader and it’s pretty much more of the same. And that’s a good thing!! With some slight parody littered in there, it’s very true to the original ‘
66 series, there is a lot of charm and whimsy and stupidity but it comes across as earnest, sincere and fun.
I have the same critisim about the voice acting of the older guys, you can tell the age in their voices but ya know what? That’s part of the charm. It’s so fulfilling and heartwarming knowing that Adam West got to have another go at this, with love.
They absolutely smashed it out of the park with Shatner as Harvey Dent/Two-Face too. Makes sense of the time period of the show, makes sense in the film and it works. One of those ‘oh what actually could have been’ moments which
should happen more in elseworlds animation like this!!
Love the modern Batman jokes, love seeing some of the modern characters translated to that era of the show. I could sit back and watch a million of these, but sadly can’t. At least we have these, the show and the movie to look back fondly on.
Rest In Peace Adam and everyone else we’ve lost who made this show what it is, and help thrust Batman (for better or worst) on the centre stage of mainstream pop culture.
