Entirely recontextualizes Dorsky's films from being just 'pretty experimental films,' to more process driven works of art. Not to say that they aren't beautiful, because they are, but Dovzhenko shoots these Dorsky-like scenes with the goal of informing the viewer of the process taking place, not just that saying that 'the apples look pretty in the rain' (even though they do). And seeing Dovzhenko film his subjects in this way lightens up that gray area I had in some of Dorsky's films, and expands their ideologies past the idea of being plainly gorgeous films
