Electra, My Love is more audiovisual art than a narrative movie, it literally felt like a fever dream to watch this. The fact that this entire film was shot in 12 takes is absolutely mind blowing. But apart from its stunning visuals, this film also has really floaty and catching dialogue. It's not easy to follow at times but it's powerful and lingers after.
I love how the movie portrays tyranny and the people as it is almost a play, it feels so spirited and exuberant yet serious and sincere. I almost cannot put into words how well thought out I find the motion of the people around the main characters. It brings so much aliveness to the screen, it makes it structured yet very engaging.
Overall a must watch if you are fan of more artsy movies!
