A gorgeously composed and very abstract political allegory that deals with the idea of continuous rebellion against tyranny through the Greek myth of Electra and Orestes. The film has a repetitive, cyclical plot of constant revolution and displacement of power, reflecting the real life need to oppose those in totalitarian power. Visually this film is made up of many long takes, fluid sequences that incorporate ritualistic choreography and beautiful use of open spaces, it’s truly a gorgeous looking film. I did find all the strange rituals quite weird but I did enjoy it, especially when that bright red helicopter appeared out of nowhere (one of my favourite film niches).
