this probably could’ve been quite profound if it focused on the morality/religious aspects of the story instead of turning it into a weird emma thompson x fionn whitehead romance/ prophetic quasi-guru thing (????)
it also makes me sad because i’m completely uninspired to the read the novel now, even though ian mcewan only knows how to write bangers. so im assuming it doesn’t do the book justice
