The real question is did the film use the misogynist plotline as a way to critique the misogynistic subtext of the slashers of its time, or did it use it as an excuse to perpetrate that subtext?

Incredibly bland and poorly acted, Visiting Hours is uninspired and frankly, uninteresting. It's the same three scenes over and over and at no point did I care about what I was seeing. The kills are nothing, the story barely exists, and there isn't anything scary here. I think my biggest issue is that they never address why the fuck the killer dresses like that.
