Arnold Billings: Look, we hired you to do a job, Mr. St. John, and it wasn't to investigate me and my company and it sure wasn't to exchange information with your ex-wife.
I was shocked that this was working for me for the first 20-30 minutes. But it just kept building plotlines ok top of each other and I just struggled to find a central voice in it all.
Richard Gere is great here, Denzel Washington is criminally underutilized, and Gene Hackman is….doing a thing.
Also it’s a bit too blindly optimistic for my favor. I can enjoy some hopeful movies about American politics, but this doesn’t have the needed bite those kinds of films had.
