truly depressing and dark. not much is really going well for these people. director jon alpert at times feels like both an accomplice and a lens through which we watch all of this happening, showing how some people truly can’t escape their surroundings. the gritty camerawork adds a ton to this as well, really capturing how much of a time capsule this is. eager to watch the next part but also not excited at all.
