Romeo and Juliet drenched in the beautifully sleazy 80s New York to the point where it starts to more resemble West Side Story. A timeless story told decently here. The aesthetic and the music is so 80s and I can't help but love it. The plot becomes unnecessarily convoluted, often prioritizing the gang war to the underdeveloped romance between the leads. Doesn't help that the acting in many places is quite lackluster. That said I had a blast with this and enjoyed the hell out of the this and it's style. #rawr

The story was not really original, but that was fine. I just think it left much to be desired in relation to the acting and the pacing. Also, there wasn’t that much chemistry between the leads. It was an OK watch but I definitely don’t think I’ll be watching it again.

There will be a reenactment of the first dance scene in my room tonight @ 10 PM!!! (Only single men with 80’s haircuts will be allowed in)

It's the neon-lit Romeo and Juliet trope for me
